I was 9 years old and up way too late on a weekday watching the late night horror special back when that was even a thing. The movie was Hellraiser, a real gem in the 80’s horror genre. Starring (in my opinion) Pinhead played by the one and only Doug Bradley. I was completely entranced by the savage imagery and special effects. Fast forward a few years and I discovered my love of the occult, metal, and again more horror movies. Along that journey I picked up a few (bootleg) VHS tapes of live shows. One of which was an extreme metal band that seemed to share my test in horror and the macabre, Cradle of Filth.

Now fast forward to current day (or maybe last weekend), I’m standing with camera in hand checking my settings. The lights pop, the crowd cheers, and there in front of me stands Ashok in full pinhead regale. Posing as he played, I was in the zone just snaping away. Dani and Donny were done up in some incredible corpse paint by local FX artist Briel (deadsledfx on IG). Doug Bradley would have been proud of this display! Chaos and Carnage wrapped up May 14th but be sure to check out Cradles of Filth’s latest album: The Screaming of the Valkyries and video for: To Live Deliciously on Youtube.
