The Summer Unity Tour presented by Live Nation last August 13, 2025 took over The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Tx. Gloriously nostalgic with legends of alternative and post-grunge, Live and Collective Soul coheadlining, this show took me and fans back. The tour also features Our Lady Peace and Greylin James Rue. Â
Greylin James Rue is an up and coming artist from LA doing her first tour. She is indie, folk, and poetically pleasing. A short set list but enough to draw in the early ongoers. Her performance was confident. I’m looking forward to new music and songs she releases.

Our Lady Peace was formed 1992 in Ontario, Canada. They are one of the most successful bands in Canada and have won multiple awards songs that topped the alternative charts. Happiness… Is Not A Fish That You Can Catch and Gravity are two albums that heavily influenced my life. To experience them perform and play songs from both albums live was immensely fulfilling.

Live has been tried and tested since forming in 1984. Ed Kowalczyk is the only original member with a new touring lineup for this leg. The music remains the same. Classic and powerful, Ed’s vocals does not age. It’s hard not to think of Live when we’re talking about alternative music. “I alone”, “Selling The Drama”, “Lightning Crashes”, “The Dolphin’s Cry” are alternative classics that were masterfully performed for fans singing alone to every verse. A true testament to Live’s legacy.

Collective Soul needs no introduction. Formed in 1992 as well, they are multi-award winning with 12 studio albums. True icons to the genre. “Shine”, “Run”, “The World Know”, and “December” are a few of many that should be in the alternative hall of fame. This tour was gloriously nostalgic. Their performance was classic and they did not leave fans wanting. I was definitely taken back to road trips listening to mixed tapes and cd’s of all these alternative hits that left a pleasant and calming feeling by the end of the night.

The tour has a few more shows before it ends this month. I highly recommend anyone who are fans of these legendary groups and alternative music to experience them live. See below for more information!
